Although this may not be spot on, I'm sure it will be helpful as a written guide to this walk, created by Avril, who is very familiar with the surrounding area of Middlestown and the Coxley Valley. From the Reindeer, Overton, turn left down the first lane to the main road. Cross the road carefully onto footpath, on the right hand side of the wood. Follow to the bottom, over a stile, straight across a field to the next stile, on towards the third stile, and cross over this. Follow the edge of the field keeping left, seeing the farm over the hedge on your right. Cross the lane over two stiles, continue across the field over another stile. Turn right down towards the farm, then fork left to the valley and the tarmaced lane. Over a stile turn left, down past a riding school. Immediately after R.S., over a bridge, take footpath over a stile into field. Follow the beck on your right, through two fields, to the boundary, turn left up to a stile that will take you onto a lane. Turn right, and after a short distance, cross the bridge, named Mug Mill, continue up the lane for a short distance, then turn left, not straight on! Stay on this lane for 3/4 of a mile, there is a log yard on the right. On reaching the road, turn left downhill, this is Smithy Brooke lane. Just before reaching a small hamlet, turn right up a tarmac lane and follow for about a mile, keeping straight on until reaching the main road. Cross the road uphill, to the end of lane, onto Sandy lane, turn right Onto Coxley lane, down to the bottom, passing no. 12 on the right. (no.12 is where Avril once lived) At the bottom of the lane, go through parking area to farm gate, turn right on footpath, in front of gate. This is up through woods, passing a lake on the right, then a pond, continue along for about a mile, until reaching a small bridge, up the steps to a ploughed field. Turn left along the edge of the fields, down to a hollow, turn right on the hedged lane. At the end of lane, turn left, follow sign to Overton, 3/4 mile, keep on to main road, turn left back to the Reindeer. Although Joan and myself didn't attend the walk, we did manage to arrive for lunch!
Here is is a map of the walk area, and a mapometer link.
