Yorkshire Sculpture Walk, October 2014
We parked near the YSP, just off the Denby Dale road near Midgeley. The walk was supposed to be around 6 miles, but we actually did over 8 miles, some of it quite hard, going up a couple of steep gradients. This included our visit to the YSP, plus another interesting art gallery on the route. This featured the propellers from a Chinook rotating, to create the wpwpwp sound they make.
The Sculpture park could have taken many hours to see all the features displayed, and is definitely worth a re visit. We all took many photo's which you can look at here. My favourite was the giant on his mobile phone!
Although the walk was quite hard, we all really enjoyed it! And of course, our visit to the Cherry Tree at High Hoyland, although initially, hampered by a quite large "lady". We gave up "her" table, as she could only manage one step into the pub and needed to sit down. Utter nonsense, we know! The food and drinks were really good quality, and great value. Another great day!
