November in Temple Newsam
Only our sixth walk this year as a group due to holidays and lifestyles. The walk at Temple Newsam was a marvellous country walk of 7 easy miles. A Sunny, calm and dry day, perfect for catch up with friends. We did the circuit anti-clockwise after parking in the free car park within the grounds, just off the Selby road at Whitkirk. More time would be needed to visit the house and other interesting parts of Temple Newsam. On previous visits here we have called in the Courtyard Cafe, just right for a snack and refreshments. Only a few of us decided to use this facility at the end of the walk, as we had booked our very own Spread Eagle at Darrington for a late lunch. Newly refurbished and recently reopened restaurant, The Spread Sunday lunch was enjoyed by all!
